It was reported on the radio today that former Representative

Jim Leech endorsed Barack Obama for President.

The clown makes his living for 30 years as a Republican, and

then turns around and endorses a Democrat?? If a RINO like

Leech, can't endorse a neo-con like McCain, he's been in the wrong

party. He couldn't figure that out in 30 years?

What a low-life to be a "Republican" when its convenient,

and then spit on them when it suits you.

I certainly don't vote for Republicans either, but you won't catch

me pretending to be one.

The JBS Congressional rating system always had Leech about a 22

out of 100 on their conservative rating, where Democrat Leonard

Boswell usually placed a 35 or 40. I just always got to thinking

of Leech as a Democrat for all practical purposes.

KY 3 News' Sara Sheffield reported on an injured boy from Ozark, Missouri who was taser up to 19 times by police.

Doctors believe 16-year-old Mace Hutchinson broke his back and heel after falling from an overpass. The boy's family does not understand why police would have tasered the boy up to 19 times after he was injured. Use of the taser delayed surgery by two days.

Ozark Police Capt. Thomas Rousset explained why the taser was used. Rousset said, "He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him. He is making incoherent statements; he's also making statements such as, 'Shoot cops, kill cops,' things like that. So there was cause for concern to the officers."

You check in at the airline ticket counter. But instead of a boarding pass, you get shackled with an electronic bracelet which tracks your every move, contains all your personal information, and can shock you senseless. This vision of the future of air security is being floated around the Department of Homeland Security's research and development office.

According to a video promoting the so-called EMD Safety Bracelet, all airline passengers would be required to wear it "until they disembark the flight at their destination."

The device, in addition to storing all of your sensitive personal information and tracking you with GPS, would allow someone to activate it remotely and immobilize the wearer for several minutes. This is EMD, or electro-muscular disruption.

And the Department of Homeland Security is interested in buying them.

According to a letter from Paul S. Ruwaldt of the DHS Science and Technology Directorate, the department is interested in using them to control illegal immigrants as well as "prisoner transportation, detainee control and . . . to improve air security, on passenger planes."

Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach 'Change'
Editor, Times-Dispatch:

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my

independence day and on July 4 I celebrate America's. This year is special, because

it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba and a few months later I was in

the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day

is just part of the story, but I digress.

I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made

me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans

thought Cuba needed a change, and they were right. So when a young leader came

along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system,

the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really

believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical

care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality

to all, everyone said 'Praise the Lord.' And when the young leader said, 'I will be for change

and I'll bring you change,' everyone yelled, 'Viva Fidel!'

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent

the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal,

they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone

received their free education it was worth nothing. By the time the press

noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time

the change was finally implemented Cuba had been knocked down a couple

of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over more

than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can

call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate

Cubans. And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we in America would never fall for a young leader who promised change

without asking 'what change'? How will you carry it out? What will it cost

America? Would we?

USA Today: 'Billions needed to shore up bridges'

This USA Today article talks about all the different ways States are looking

to find new revenue to replace and repair bridges. They have to find new

ways to fund bridge repair. That's odd isn't it? We would have a nationwide

system of roads and bridges, and no way to fund the upkeep. Hmm. Probably

just slipped their mind, that after they were all built, that they would have

to be repaired on a regular basis. Would of thought that it would be something

they could have planned for, and budgeted for.

That's pretty amazing isn't it? Something as critical to the nations truck/car

traffic as bridges, and yet we've never set up a funding stream for the upkeep.

What's that you say? Oh! The state gasoline tax goes to bridge and road repair.

Our vehicle license and vehicle registration tax goes to road use. Plus funding

from the general fund. Your saying we've ALREADY funded highway repair, 3 times over,

its just that criminal legislatures have misappropriated the funds?? Diggy's you say.

Iowa by the way is 5th worst in the nation.

Associated Press misses boat

The local paper, The Ames Tribune carried an AP article on Tony Snow's

passing. It opened, "Tony Snow, a conservative writer and commentator

who cheerfully sparred with reporters in the White House briefing room... "

I have 3 problems with their opening sentence.

1. "conservative writer" Have you ever seen a liberal writer described as liberal?

I first noticed this when Pat Buchanan was in the news in the '96 election. It

was impossible for the msm to identify Pat as anything but "conservative

columnist" or "right wing commentator". Does it ever occur to them, that to

identify someone as to the right, that that must mean the rest... are on the left?

You can't have right, without left.

2. "cheerfully sparred" If someone on the "right" is sparring with someone, don't they

have to be on the left? And therefore not neutral?

3. Tony Snow seemed like a very nice fellow, but he most certainly was not a

conservative. A neo-con yes, conservative no. For Pete's sake, he worked for FOX.

I'm sure the rest of the article was good, I just couldn't get past the first sentence.

Lou Dobbs ( http://loudobbs.tv.cnn.com/ ) was hot tonight! Funniest

part was when he took it to the Mayor of San Francisco for harboring

illegal alien drug pushers. He called the mayor "precious darling".

He also said the Government inspectors and tomato growers association

may have been deficient (okay he called them incompetent and dangerous)

in this episode with the salmonella outbreaks that have likely infected

30,000 people. And that the infection seems to have come from Mexico.

(Shazam!)

Hmm. Perhaps making trade agreements with a country that is not even

close to being on par with our health inspection system is part of it.

Perhaps we shouldn't make "Free Trade" agreements with an eternally

corrupt narco-state. Perhaps socialist welfare states aren't the best place

to get your food.

Obama and "national service"

This is another reason not to vote for Obama, "national service".

Forget what his preacher says, forget what his wife does, 'Barry'

gives you all the reasons you need not to vote for him.

He was on CNN shortly after noon today explaining his call for mandatory,

or soon to be mandatory national service. Who wouldn't want to be the

beneficiary of some else's labor? I imagine the government does look

forward to man stealing, who wouldn't?

I would love to have someone forced to work for me, or at a pittance.

I could get a lot more done! It is always benifical to the recipient of

forced labor, not so much so for the one providing the labor.

Ironic it should be a black man that should be a major part of bringing

back legalized slavery.

Colin Powell had a large hand in "national service", he called his

"America's Promise."

Stimulus check nonsense

Today I received notice that I should receive my "stimulus"

check by the end of the week. I do not get credit for my 2

children, like some of my friends, as my kids are young adults.

Yet my kids do not receive stimulus checks, as they could be

claimed as dependents on my tax form.

I don't get credit for them, and they don't get credit for their

earned income. Funny how government works. Or doesn't.

Dear Libertarian,

This past weekend, more than 650 Libertarian delegates from across the country came together in Denver, CO to select our ticket for the 2008 presidential race. Through much debate, both on the stage and on the floor, our delegates selected one of the strongest tickets in the 37-year history of the Libertarian Party. Former Congressman Bob Barr, and small businessman Wayne Allyn Root will be leading the Party into what could possibly be the biggest year for Libertarians since Ed Clark ran in 1980!

However, our candidates are only as strong as the Libertarians who support them, and with your help, we can make this year one for the record books!

As you well know, the Libertarian Party always starts off a few paces back from the main two parties because of our battles with ballot access and funding. It takes an incredibly large sum of money to put the party on an even playing field in each state, and after that is all said and done, we still have the campaign to fund!

In the post-nomination excitement, as Libertarians united behind our candidate and began to turn towards the real enemy of the establishment, more than $64,000 was donated at the 2008 National Convention Presidential Banquet. Our gracious donors recognized that this was going to be a banner-year for the Libertarian Party, and wanted to make sure the tracks were laid for the Barr/Root train to roll loudly into Washington.

But this is just a fraction of what we need to ensure the Libertarian Party breaks every third-party record this year. We now put the challenge to you, our generous donors, volunteers and activists: Will you help build the tracks to success in 2008?

The average donation at the presidential banquet was $266, and we are asking if you can match this amount with your gracious donation that can be made online here. If you cannot, please donate any amount that you are able.

All donations are needed, and every one will be put to good use.

Rev.Wright epitomizes the thoughts and actions that have prevented and continue to prevent black America from moving ahead and achieving their potential as a people.

He suggests that this United States of America made up of sons and daughters of immigrants (I'm talking of the millions of 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation immigrants in this country) of every race, creed, color and religion each and everyone of them who had nothing to do with slavery, some how owe something to a group of people who have never been slaves? Its amazing.

It seems everyone is to blame for the shambles black society is in with its violence, drugs, high school drop out rates, misogyny, and a host of other real and virulent problems, except for the very people who engage in such behavior.

Enough. As a society, culture or people, they should look within themselves and fix their problems.

When did this man become the spokesman for the 'black church'? And of course his church is different, but that doesn't mean his message and philosophy is acceptable, or productive or non-offensive or not-racist or indicative of our greater cultural behaviors, values and norms as Americans.

And yes, the link between this man and Obama really does matter. At a very minimum, it provides insight into the political and philosophical strain that Obama adheres to.
