Anthrax case- no accountability

I noticed the government wrap up on the mailed anthrax from years ago, was,

'lone suspect commits suicide.'

Not so fast. Who now amongst his supervisors is going to be held accountable?

So as to avoid this in the future?

Yeah, that's right, the Air Force as an example, for people who's work involves

nuclear weapons, has a program called PRP, Personnel Reliability Program, a

continuing assessment of your mental health, because they cannot afford to

have nuts working on nukes.

An Army weapons lab dealing with anthrax, is going to have something similar.

But it was evidently lackadaisically applied, or not taken seriously, so we

ended up with a nut with anthrax.

To remedy the program not being taken seriously, the person who was supposed

to be overseeing this, needs to be fired.

The Bush administration's newly created National Cyber Security Center remains shrouded in secrecy, with officials refusing
to release information about its budget, what contractors will run it, and
how its mission relates to Internet surveillance.

In correspondence with the U.S. Senate posted on Thursday, the Bush
administration said it would not provide that information publicly. An
18-page, partially redacted letter from DHS said that disclosure could
affect "the conduct of federal programs, or other programs or operations
essential to the interests of our nation."

The censored letter--a nonredacted, "For Official Use Only" version was
provided to senators--came in response to queries from the top Democratic
and Republican members of the Senate's Homeland Security committee.

One question left unanswered is how the National Cyber Security Center will
interact with DHS's so-called Einstein program, which is designed to monitor
Internet mischief and network disruptions aimed at federal agencies. (Not
much about Einstein is public, but a privacy impact assessment offers some
details.)

Cultural Genocide

In the last 5 to 10 years, radio talk show hosts and other

conservative pundits have noticed something, that we

are in a "culture war", a fight for which direction this nation

goes.

Nice of them to notice. It was over 15 years ago that

Patrick Joseph Buchanan pointed this out at the 1992

Republican convention. Liberal listeners swooned on the spot.

War? Culture? Surely you jest!

I think there are several terms that are being incorrectly

defined in the phrase "culture war".

P.J. Buchanan might have been in a culture war, he's a fighter,

and dead on about the issues. Today's pukes like Rush and Mickelson

and Deace, are in more of a cultural genocide. They are not fighters.

With them at the helm, we are getting slaughtered. They are more about

making money off of a perpetual struggle. Actually SOLVING something,

or fostering the entity that would, is not their purpose.

Because in a "war", there has to be two sides, two combatants. I fail to see

who is fighting on the side of faith and freedom. Its not the Republican party.

Driving off the cliff at a slower rate of speed then the Democrats is not going to

win a culture war. Besides, how can you win a culture war, by fighting

in the political arena?

There is no way you can convince me that someone is fighting a culture war

from the political or media ranks. So how about from the churches? You have maybe

half of Christendom fighting the good fight, then they ruin it and put their faith in

the Republican Party. And the leaders of the "conservative" half of Christendom,

are truly more worried about maintaining their tax exempt status, then working

for Christ in the culture.

How about organizations? The NRA? Iowans For Tax Relief? National Right to Life?

Just ahead of the coup of 1913 and our sunny land's participation in WWI, Walter Lippman's unintentionally prescient quote comes courtesy of the New York Times archives available on-line. It points to a less suspicious reason why it may have taken President Wilson's alter ego, and spiritual Marxist Edward Mandell House, several years to admit he was the anonymous author of Philip Dru: Administrator.
Though good enough to later help Lippman himself in drafting President Wilson's Fourteen Points Peace Programme, the future CFR founder House was, as Lippman points out, far from being novelist material. Nonetheless, the contrived plot of his political treatise does come to mind as one reads how Justin Raimondo describes Sibel Edmonds' allegations that top U.S. officials aided in the sale and distribution of American nuclear secrets to foreign governments: "Corruption and a massive cover-up organized at the highest levels of government... Like Vicente Fox speaking on CNN about the goal of a North American Union and an Amero currency, Peruvian President Alan Garcia did not get the memo about keeping quiet about the real meaning of "free trade." His frank remark to U.S. Chamber of Commerce executives is one of the most honest summations yet of what managed trade deals under U.S. trade policy are all about.

about the Islamofascist plan to use "suitcase nukes" to destroy 7

American cities. Taken in conjunction with other reports, the "plan",

is said to be, upon the U.S.A.'s strike on Iran, a retaliatory and

simultaneous detonation of nuclear devices in New York, D.C.,

Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, Miami, and Las Vegas would take

place. Given the former Soviet Union's need for cash, that they

would supply the goods, does not seem that implausible.

has been about the Fed's MK-ULTRA mind control program.

Alleging everything from sleeper agents, to Lee Harvey Oswald

as a subject, to an explanation of the school shootings. This

It was the 1950s, a time of doo-wop, sock hops and Bobby Rydell, when Americans dusted off the remnants of WWII and looked toward a more optimistic society. Or so it's often thought. But the '50s were often less Happy Days and more The Day the Earth Stood Still, as fears of a Cold War and mistrust of the government were just beginning to bloom. Since those fears couldn't always be talked about, they came through in films like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with themes of technology run riot and the loss of free will.

These "delusional fears" were actually rooted in reality, as the government was taking steps toward turning American soldiers into unthinking, unfeeling machines with help from brainwashing and LSD. The CIA, while learning how to bring down Communists, was also learning from them — specifically how they used mind control on Korean War prisoners. Could this mind control also create a zombie-like US soldier, one who would follow orders no matter how grisly, or withstand any amount of torture if captured?

The combination of hypnosis, shock therapy and drugs like LSD and Ketamine made this seem a possibility, and were investigated in a mind control research program called MK-ULTRA. MK-ULTRA was funded by millions of U.S. dollars and led by a scientist named Sidney Gottlieb. In his book The Very Best Men, Evan Thomas describes Gottlieb as "born with a club foot and a stutter, he compensated by becoming an expert folk dancer and obtaining a Ph.D. from Cal Tech … he drank only goat's milk and grew Christmas trees, which he sold at a roadside stand." That is, when he wasn't drugging research subjects.

The goals of MK-ULTRA included investigating the following:

Materials which will render the induction of hypnosis easier or otherwise enhance its usefulness.
Substances which will enhance the ability of individuals to withstand privation, torture and coercion during interrogation and so-called "brain-washing".
Materials and physical methods which will produce amnesia for events preceding and during their use.
Physical methods of producing shock and confusion over extended periods of time and capable of surreptitious use.
A knockout pill which could surreptitiously be administered in drinks, food, cigarettes, as an aerosol, etc., which will be safe to use, provide a maximum of amnesia, and be suitable for use by agent types on an ad hoc basis.

The CIA was fascinated by LSD, and thought it a wonder drug that could be used not only to create zombie-like armies, but to drive enemy leaders like Fidel Castro insane. There were few willing subjects in the research — often, LSD was secretly given to a range of people, from CIA employees to prostitutes and the mentally ill. Sometimes, agents even posed as prostitutes and secretly drugged their clients, while fellow agents watched in two-way mirrors...."

Stop the Senate From Giving the UN Control Over Everything About the Oceans!

Here's the situation.

The Senate is likely to ratify a 1982 U.N. treaty governing the use of the world's oceans despite grumbling from a few conservative GOP senators. (CQ Today, Oct. 31, 2007)

You read it right. The Senate is poised to ratify the UN's Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), which would give regulatory jurisdiction over the world's oceans and seas to a United Nations body, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

This is the organization famous for its corrupt oil-for-food scandal. This is the organization that consistently votes against American interests.

Here's how the UN describes the importance of LOST:

The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea ... is perhaps one of the most significant but less recognized 20th century accomplishments in the arena of international law.... Its scope is vast: it covers all ocean space, with all its uses, including navigation and overflight; all uses of all its resources, living and non-living, on the high seas, on the ocean floor and beneath, on the continental shelf and in the territorial seas; the protection of the marine environment; and basic law and order.... The Convention is widely recognised by the international community as the legal framework within which all activities in the oceans and the seas must be carried out. ("25th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea," Oct. 17, 2007)

So you see just how comprehensive the LOST treaty is. It provides the legal framework within which all activities on, over, and under the oceans and the seas must be carried out.

In other words, the LOST treaty would give the UN jurisdiction over everything, EVERYTHING, concerning the oceans and seas of the earth.
Everything would certainly include military and commercial uses of the oceans and seas. How do you think the anti-American UN would rule on U.S. Air Force planes and U.S. Navy ships using the oceans for military purposes? What would this mean for our national security? How about our commercial airliners flying over the oceans? How about the necessary transportation between our mainland states and Hawaii? And, on and on.
We would not have veto power protection in the UN's International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea like we do in the Security Council. We'd have one vote among a membership of over 150 nations.

Fox urges immigration reform, not a wall

STORM LAKE, Iowa n Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, said fear is guiding U.S. policy makers, specifically in the charge to build a wall between the two countries.

"People are using fear to confuse immigrants with terrorists," said Fox, who was elected in 2000. "Immigrants are not terrorists. It's false. Immigrants built this country.

"Congress should take the bull by the horns. It is a federal issue," Fox continued. "If they don't deal with it, then it will be left to local authorities, some who are extremely violent and aggressive."

Fox spoke about relations between Mexico and the U.S. at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, where he appeared as the 18th lecturer in the annual William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture.

Buena Vista student Tara Runghee opened her question by quoting a member of Congress, presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, who has said that as president he would eliminate benefits and job prospects so illegal immigrants would not stay. Tancredo, a Colorado Republican, is a proponent of building a wall between the two nations.

Fox snorted at the name Tancredo, adding, "He should not have a Spanish name."

Fox added that he's not for open borders, either. He does not support illegality or disorder.

"Figure which of the 12 million (undocumented workers) have a job, and the rest should be sent back," said Fox. He added a caveat: "There is a human side. Families cannot be divided. To see a 2- or 3-year-old here alone while their parents are sent back to Mexico is not compassionate."

When Fox was elected in 2000, he broke a seven-decade hold the Revolutionary Institutional Party had had on the country. The former trucker driver who rose to president for Coca-Cola in Mexico and Latin America promised reform and democratization. Some argue he delivered, as the per capita income rose in Mexico while the country's debt level was reduced.

Mexico shows its buying power north of the border, he said, by purchasing more from the U.S. than Italy, France and Germany combined. Years ago, he noted, there were 85 different car models offered in Mexico. There are 850 now.

Why, then, are Mexicans still risking their lives to get out of Mexico?

"Today the Mexican average income is one-sixth of what it is in the U.S.," he said. "As long as there is that gap, people will look for a better life."

The U.S., he said, relies on Latin American labor. The U.S. needs 400,000 to 500,000 more workers each year to keep pace with job growth. The domestic working population, he added, isn't growing that rapidly here. Immigrant labor is filling the void, allowing the economy in the U.S. to expand.

"It (U.S. growth) would not be sustainable were it not for the injection of this talent," he said.

Storm Lake, in fact, is one Northwest Iowa community that has grown thanks in large part to a surge in immigration. The public school district educated a handful of minorities in the late 1980s. Caucasians are now in the minority in the schools.

Fox asked Northwest Iowans to plead with their lawmakers to spend billions not on a fence but on education and job creation.

Fox said he and President Bush were very close to reaching an immigration reform package in September 2001. The terrorist attacks on the U.S. changed everything.

"And for the past six years, all that I have heard is 'manana, manana, manana,'" said Fox, using the Spanish word for "tomorrow."

Immigration reform has waited while U.S. leaders dealt with elections at home and violence in the Middle East.

To that end, Fox said he believes U.S. troops should be pulled out of Iraq as soon as possible, a line that earned applause from the audience gathered in Schaller Memorial Chapel. Now that Saddam Hussein is dead, the Iraqi people, he said, should determine their own fate.

And the U.S. should return to what made it a world leader.

"The U.S. must recuperate its core values and must come back to be a leader again in the world," Fox said. "We must build bridges of communication, bridges of technology and bridges of education."

Fox, who gave another lecture Friday evening at Buena Vista, will entertain questions from the public today from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Siebens Fieldhouse. Since leaving office in December, he has been speaking throughout the world. His memoir, "Revolution of Hope," was published this year.

Vicente Fox joins a distinguished list of speakers who have visited Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, for the William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture. Past speakers include Presidents George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter and F.W. de Klerk; and Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher, Shimon Peres, Benazir Bhutto and John Major.
